After Korea, Nepathya's next show set for Dubai

Having wrapped up its program in South Korea, the band Nepathya will next perform in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The concert will be held on Sunday, Asoj 18, at 'The Agenda' hall in Dubai Internet City.

This will be Nepathya's fourth visit to Dubai. All three previous concerts there were held at Al Nasr Leisureland, an ice hockey venue. This time, organizers have chosen a new venue with additional facilities.

Nepalaya's Kiran Krishna Shrestha said that, on the eve of Dashain, audiences will get to experience music along with a gathering of the Nepali community. Among Gulf countries, the UAE has the largest number of Nepali workers after Saudi Arabia and Qatar. One study has shown around 700,000 Nepalis residing there.

Nepathya first traveled to Dubai in 2015 right after the earthquake, for a program that had actually been scheduled before the quake struck. The band deposited the proceeds from that show into the Prime Minister's Disaster Relief Fund. The band's first foreign trip after the COVID pandemic, in 2022, was also to Dubai.

Lead singer Amrit Gurung said Nepalis there have consistently given warm support to Nepathya, known for its folk-influenced songs.
