Dhap Dam completely safe, no need to panic: Energy Ministry

The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation has said that the Dhap Dam, located in Gokarneshwar Municipality-1 within the Shivapuri-Nagarjun National Park area, is completely safe.

A department under the ministry said the Dhap Dam is under special monitoring and that there is no need to panic.

According to the department, the normal water level in the Dhap Dam's reservoir is 2087.14 meters above sea level. The dam has a spillway structure through which excess water is automatically discharged if the water level rises above that height.

The ministry provided this information about the dam's safety amid the continuous rainfall of the past three days.
