Embassy urges Nepalis in Saudi Arabia to exercise high alert

With the security situation in Saudi Arabia turning sensitive, the Nepali Embassy in Riyadh has urged all Nepalis there to exercise high alert, issuing a five-point advisory through a special notice.

The notice places special emphasis on not stepping out except for essential work, and on avoiding going out when security warnings are in effect.

Nepalis have been asked to fully comply with security directives issued by official Saudi authorities and to regularly check their notices, with the embassy appealing for extra caution in risk-prone areas.

Nepalis have also been cautioned not to post, share, or forward unverified news, photos, or videos on social media.

Those preparing to fly from Saudi Arabia to Nepal or other countries have been asked to confirm with the relevant airline or official sources whether flight schedules have changed before heading to the airport.

The embassy said Nepalis can contact the Nepali Embassy in Riyadh or the Nepali Consulate General in Jeddah in case of an emergency or any problem. An estimated 400,000 Nepalis are in Saudi Arabia.
