19th Godavari Flower Exhibition to open in Jawalakhel from Kattik 12

The Floriculture Association Nepal will hold the 19th Godavari Flower Exhibition at Jawalakhel Playground in Lalitpur from Kattik 12 to 16, timed to coincide with Tihar and Chhath.

The association shared the details at a press conference in Kathmandu on Tuesday. The exhibition will feature 86 stalls in total, including 78 commercial stalls, and visitors will be able to view and buy more than 450 varieties of flowers and plants.

Of the remaining stalls, 4 will be official, 2 competitive, 1 a plant clinic and 1 a photo-selfie stall. According to association vice-president and fair coordinator Suman Maharjan, nurseries and firms will compete in five categories: miniature, spider, reflex, incurve and cut flower.

This year, a best floral arrangement category has been newly added under cut flowers, and winners will receive a shield, cash and a certificate. A separate competition will also be held to choose the best stall.

Organizers said the exhibition aims to promote the commercial production and expansion of Godavari flowers.
