464 civil servants, including 4 secretaries, resign since Saun

Since Saun 1, the start of the current fiscal year, 464 civil servants, including four secretaries, have resigned from government service, according to roughly three months of data.
According to Sudan Khwakhali Shrestha, director and information officer at the National Book Office (Civil Service), the figure includes 207 gazetted and 257 non-gazetted employees.
Among gazetted staff, besides the four secretaries, 33 joint secretaries, 72 deputy secretaries and 98 section officers have left their posts—meaning 109 employees at the deputy secretary level and above have quit.
Among non-gazetted staff, kharidars and naib subbas account for the largest number at 137, while 120 are classless employees.
The government has already approved all these resignations. The resignations follow a provision in the Civil Service Bill requiring employees who have completed 30 years of service or reached the age of 55 to leave their posts.
