An international cycling journey from Janakpurdham's Janaki temple to Dehradun in India has begun. The journey spans about 3,000 kilometres.

A team of about 20 cyclists from India, led by Dr Anil Prakash Joshi, a recipient of India's Padma Bhushan honour, started the ride. Madhesh Province Chief Surendra Labh Karna inaugurated the journey.

Water Supply, Irrigation and Energy Minister Jawaharlal Kushwaha and Tourism Minister Kanishka Patel were also present at the launch event.

The Kamala Bachau Abhiyan (Save Kamala Campaign) coordinated the journey. According to campaign secretary Binod Mahara, the journey has been organised with the aim of contributing to reducing climate change, global warming and environmental pollution. He said the journey also aims to conserve water and promote the preservation of water, life and river culture.
