Pokhara school bus accident: Education Ministry forms probe committee

The Ministry of Education and Sports has formed a committee to investigate the school bus accident that occurred in Pokhara Metropolitan City-28. The ministry issued a press release on Friday announcing the formation of the committee.

Stating that it was paying serious attention to the accident, the ministry also said standards would be formulated to regulate school buses and drivers.

The vehicle involved in the accident belongs to Kalika Boarding School in Pokhara. Students of the school had repeatedly said they would not ride the vehicle because it was dilapidated. Parents had also lodged numerous complaints with the school, but the school did not replace the vehicle.

A student died in the accident that occurred on Friday.
