Roshi, Bagmati, Manohara rivers cross warning level; landslide forms temporary dam on Inkhu

Water levels in the Roshi, Bagmati, Kodku and Lalbakaiya rivers, among others, have crossed warning levels.
According to the Flood Forecasting Division, the Roshi river at Panauti and Roshi (Kavre) and the Bagmati at Khokana (Lalitpur) crossed warning levels at 11:50 am on Saturday.
The Kodku river at Jharuwarasi (Lalitpur) and the Lalbakaiya at Jhurelibazar (Makwanpur) are also rising. Flows in the Dhobi Khola and Bishnumati within the Valley have also increased, prompting the Division to urge people not to travel on roads along riverbanks.
After the flow of the Manohara river increased at Chyasal, the Armed Police Force's Battalion No. 21 based in Dakshinkali has been kept on standby for mobilization. The administration has urged people not to go near riverbanks to watch the flood.
In Imadol, also in Lalitpur, water from the Karmanasa stream has entered homes and roads.
Gombu Sherpa, Minister for Internal Affairs and Law in Koshi Province, said continuous landslides below Cherem village in Mahakulung Rural Municipality-1, Solukhumbu, have formed a temporary dam on the Inkhu river. He urged residents along the Inkhu, Dudh Koshi and Sapta Koshi rivers to stay alert, warning that water levels could rise suddenly if the dam bursts.
However, Chief District Officer Kaman Thapa Magar said the river's flow has not yet been completely blocked.
The Division has also warned of possible flash floods in small streams around Manang and Lamjung, and asked people to remain cautious through the evening. Meteorologists said rain and snowfall would continue through Saturday afternoon before gradually easing.
