80 of Lumbini province's local units have no fire engine

Nearly 80 local units in Lumbini province do not have a fire engine to put out fires.
The shortage became evident on Wednesday evening when a fire broke out at a cosmetics shop at Hapure Bazaar in Dang's Babai Rural Municipality. Locals tried to douse the flames, but the fire could not be brought under control.
Besides Babai, the neighboring Shantinagar and Dangisharan rural municipalities also have no fire engine. The fire engine of Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City, about 24 km away, has not been operational since it was burned during arson at the time of the Gen Z movement.
After four local units in western Dang failed to arrange a fire engine, one was called in from Ghorahi Sub-Metropolitan City. By the time it covered nearly 50 km and reached the spot, the shop had already burned down completely.
