The share market index NEPSE rose 2.31 points on Thursday to close at 2574.65 points.

On the fourth trading day of the week, the market recovered in the final session after fluctuating through the day. According to the Nepal Stock Exchange, the Sensitive Index, a gauge of large companies, rose 0.81 points to 462.04. The Float Index rose 0.22 points to 177.68, and the Sensitive Float Index rose 0.29 points to 155.65.

After turnover of around Rs 3.74 billion on Wednesday, Thursday saw about 11.2 million shares of 354 companies traded for around Rs 3.93 billion. Of the 13 sub-indices, 8 rose, including banking, development banks, hydropower, investment, manufacturing and processing, mutual funds, non-life insurance, and trading.

Share prices rose for 140 companies, fell for 127, and stayed unchanged for 11. The highest turnover was recorded by Ghalemdi Hydro at around Rs 260 million, followed by Himal Dolkha Hydropower at around Rs 190 million.

Following the announcement of an 18 percent bonus share, shares of Kutheli Bukhari Small Hydropower hit the upper circuit. Snow River's share price rose by around 6.4 percent, while RBB Mutual Fund-2 fell by more than 8 percent.
