Gold prices in the Nepali market fell by about Rs 2,900 per tola on Sunday, the first trading day of the week. According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association, hallmarked gold is being traded at Rs 2,91,900 per tola today. On Friday, the same gold was bought and sold at Rs 2,94,800 per tola. In the trading session before that, gold had risen by about Rs 1,500 per tola.

The association said silver also fell by Rs 60 per tola, to Rs 4,390. Silver was traded at Rs 4,450 per tola on Friday.

According to the association, the price of hallmarked gold per 10 grams is now about Rs 2,50,000. Silver per 10 grams has been set at Rs 3,764.

Daily prices of gold and silver in Nepal are set based on fluctuations in the international market. In the international market, gold is currently being traded at about US$4,140 per ounce.
