Both houses of parliament's session to end from midnight Friday

President Ramchandra Paudel has ended the ongoing session of both houses of the federal parliament. The President's Office said the decision was made under Article 93(2) of the constitution, on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers on Asoj 13.
According to a statement issued by the office on Thursday, the sessions of both the House of Representatives and the National Assembly will end from midnight on Friday, Asoj 16. The constitution grants the president the authority to summon and end sessions on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers.
This session began on Baishakh 28, 2083 BS. During this period, parliament approved the annual budget and the government's policies and programs. Six bills replacing ordinances were passed and authenticated.
The Alternative Finance Mobilization Bill and the Martyr Dashrath Chand University of Health Sciences Bill were also passed and authenticated. A bill reviving the earlier provisions of the Nepal Special Services Act, 2042 BS, was also authenticated.
Although direct question-and-answer sessions were held with ministers during the session, a question-and-answer program with the prime minister could not take place.
