Nepal slips one spot to 178th in FIFA rankings

Nepal has slipped one place to 178th in the latest rankings updated by FIFA, world football's governing body.
Nepal was previously ranked 177th. The team last played an international match on March 31, losing to Laos. That match came six days after the National Sports Council suspended the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA).
Nepali football has been absent from international competition since FIFA suspended Nepal on June 24.
In South Asia, India remains the region's top-ranked side at 138th, while Afghanistan sits at 168th and the Maldives at 173rd. Bangladesh is 182nd, Sri Lanka climbed three places to 184th, and Bhutan is 192nd. Pakistan rose one spot to 197th.
In Asia, Japan leads at 17th, followed by Iran at 23rd and Australia at 26th.
