Government to give sugarcane farmers over Rs 1.5 billion in subsidies

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forests and Environment is set to distribute subsidy funds of more than Rs 1.5 billion to sugarcane farmers. The subsidy is being provided to encourage farmers who grow sugarcane.
The Rs 1,500,050,000 released for fiscal year 2083/84 will be distributed to sugarcane farmers in various districts including Bardiya, Rautahat, Kailali and Kanchanpur.
The ministry said the funds are being distributed with the aim of encouraging farmers engaged in sugarcane production.
