Gandaki beats Bhutan for second straight win, sweeps series

Gandaki Province has defeated the visiting Bhutan national cricket team for the second consecutive match. In Wednesday's match at Pokhara Stadium's cricket ground, Gandaki beat Bhutan by a margin of 64 runs.

With this, Gandaki has won both matches of the two-match series to complete a clean sweep. In the first match on Tuesday, Gandaki had won by 8 wickets.

Having won the toss, Bhutan sent Gandaki in to bat first. Having lost 4 wickets for 45 runs at one stage, Gandaki scored 196 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Karan Pangeni and Sibrin Shrestha added an equal 45 runs each, off 27 and 24 balls respectively. Sandeep Khatri added an unbeaten 30 runs off 9 balls. Bhutan's Thinley Jamtsho took 4 wickets and Sonam Yeshi took 2.

In reply, Bhutan's innings folded for 132 runs in 17.4 overs. Bhutan's Sonam Chophel top-scored with 43 off 21 balls, and Tashi Dorji made 31 off 11 balls. Gandaki captain Bipin Khatri took 4 wickets for 22 runs. Deepak Dumre took 3 wickets and Sibrin took 2.

Bhutan are next scheduled to play two practice matches against CAN-11 on Thursday and Friday.
