Pretorius breaks Chris Gayle's record for highest individual T20 score

South African batter Luan-dre Pretorius, 20, has set a new record for the highest individual score in men's T20 cricket. Playing for the Titans against the Knights in the CSA T20 Challenge, he scored an unbeaten 188 off 79 balls.
His innings included 15 fours and 13 sixes. The previous record belonged to Chris Gayle, who scored an unbeaten 175 for Royal Challengers Bangalore against Pune Warriors in 2013.
Pretorius reached his half-century off 24 balls and completed his century just 16 balls later. He is tied with Aaron Finch and Marcus Stoinis for the fewest balls to reach 150 runs. He fell just 12 runs short of the first double century in T20 cricket.
Powered by his batting, the Titans scored 267 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs, the second-highest team total in the tournament's history.
