Speaker Aryal to leave for Tanzania Sunday for IPU Assembly, emergency motion on Rasuwa disaster to be tabled

Speaker Dolprasad Aryal will leave for Tanzania on Sunday to attend the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). The assembly, to be attended by speakers of parliament from 183 countries, will be held in Arusha, Tanzania, from Asoj 19 to 23.
At the assembly, Nepal will table an "emergency motion" on the Rasuwa disaster. Speaking to journalists at Singha Durbar on Friday, Speaker Aryal said he would raise the impact of floods, landslides and climate change at the international level through the IPU meeting. He said he would raise the issue just as the prime minister had done at the United Nations. He also said he was not going abroad for sightseeing.
On the occasion of the conclusion of parliament's session, Speaker Aryal said he had not felt at all that parliament had become weak. Noting that he had come to work for about 30 million Nepalis, he said that while it was natural to feel tired from the workload, this would not affect parliament's role in any way.
