Nepal is now certain to miss the top four in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 standings.

The chance ended on Friday after Oman defeated Canada, taking Oman's points to 33 from 29 matches. Nepal has 24 points from 32 matches and can reach a maximum of 32 points even with wins in all remaining games.

Nepal has won 11 matches, lost 19 and had 2 end without a result in the league. Nepal stands seventh among the eight teams in the table.

The United States has already won the league with 47 points from 34 matches. Scotland is second with 45 points from 36 matches, and the Netherlands third with 38 points from 32 matches. Namibia is fifth with 29 points from 34 matches, Canada sixth with 25 points from 33 matches, and the UAE last with 19 points from 30 matches.

The top four teams in the league qualify directly for the qualifier for the 2027 ODI World Cup. The bottom four teams will instead play a play-off, from which the top four of the eight teams will advance to the qualifier. The 10-team qualifier will also include the two lowest-ranked teams in the ICC ODI rankings.

In the previous cycle, Nepal had finished in the league's top four and secured a qualifier spot. Nepal will play Canada on Sunday and Oman on Tuesday.
