League Two triangular series begins in Oman, Nepal plays Sunday

A triangular series involving host Oman, Nepal and Canada under the ICC Cricket World Cup League Two begins in Oman on Friday.

In the first match, Oman will play Canada, while Nepal will play its first match against Canada on Sunday. This is the final and decisive series for Nepal and Canada in League Two, which has been running since 2024.

Nepal has 24 points from 32 matches, while Canada has 25 points from the same number of matches. Both teams must win to retain One Day International status and advance to the global qualifiers for the World Cup.

While Nepal has performed well in T20 cricket, the ODI format has not come as easily for the team. Nepal recently won the ACC Premier Cup in Malaysia, beating the UAE by 44 runs in the final. With that title, Nepal has qualified for the Asia Cup for the second time.
