Congress forms 15 committees for general convention, Gagan Thapa to lead directive panel

Nepali Congress has formed a total of 15 committees, including a central directive committee, to run its 15th general convention. Party president Gagan Kumar Thapa will coordinate the 13-member Central Directive Committee formed on Friday.

The committee includes vice-presidents Bishwa Prakash Sharma and Pushpa Bhusal, general secretaries Pradeep Paudel and Gururaj Ghimire, treasurer Umesh Shrestha, and six central members. Chief political adviser Pratap Paudel has been designated member-secretary.

Treasurer Shrestha will coordinate the Financial Management Committee, while spokesperson Devraj Chalise will coordinate the Information, Communication and Technology Committee. Uday Shumsher Rana will coordinate the Secretariat Management and Information Coordination Committee. Separate committees have also been formed for tasks including guest hospitality and venue management.

The Central Working Committee's meeting on Bhadra 1 had formed a main organizing committee for the convention, also under Thapa's coordination. The new committees have been tasked with coordination, facilitation and immediate decision-making among themselves.
