Congress invites Oli, Prachanda and Lamichhane to Asoj 16 convention opening

Nepali Congress has invited top leaders of three major parties to the inaugural ceremony of its 15th general convention on Asoj 16.

Invitations were extended to Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party; KP Sharma Oli, chairman of CPN-UML; and Pushpa Kamal Dahal "Prachanda," coordinator of the Nepal Communist Party.

Congress Deputy General Secretary Uday Shumsher Rana met all three leaders on Friday and handed over the invitation letters.

The inaugural ceremony will be held at Khula Manch in Kathmandu. Congress said it is preparing to bring leaders of both the ruling and opposition sides together at the inauguration, believing their joint presence will strengthen dialogue, cooperation and goodwill among the parties.

According to a Congress office-bearer, preparations are also underway to invite political parties and representatives from neighboring countries as guests.

Deputy General Secretary Rana urged representatives of all political parties, party leaders and cadres, well-wishers and the general public to take part in the ceremony.
