Parliamentary hearing panel seeks complaints on ambassadors nominated for 13 countries

The Parliamentary Hearing Committee has sought complaints and information from the public regarding ambassadors proposed for 13 countries.

The committee issued a public notice asking anyone who considers a nominee unsuitable for appointment to submit a complaint along with evidence.

Complaints can be filed with the Federal Parliament Secretariat or the concerned District Administration Office within 10 days of the notice's first publication. The committee said complaints must state the proposed ambassador's name, address and position, along with clear grounds for the complaint.

The committee's meeting on Asoj 8 had decided to begin the hearing process. Under the Council of Ministers' decision of Asoj 2, Dr. Nishchal Nath Pandey has been recommended for India and Dr. Kalyan Raj Sharma for China.

Chiranjung Thapa has been proposed for the United States, Gaurab Shumsher Jung Bahadur Rana for the United Kingdom, and Saru Joshi for Germany. Ambassadors have also been recommended for Israel, Spain, Japan, Oman, Malaysia, South Korea, Sri Lanka and Saudi Arabia.

The appointment process will move forward only after the complaints received are investigated and the parliamentary hearing is completed.
