PM Shah's India visit likely in second week of Mangsir

Prime Minister Balendra Shah's visit to India is likely to take place in the second week of the coming month of Mangsir.
Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal, speaking with reporters on Friday, confirmed that the prime minister would be visiting India. Various media outlets had recently reported that the visit would take place in the second week of Mangsir, and Minister Khanal indicated the visit would fall around the time reported in the media, though he clarified that a date has not yet been formally fixed.
Minister Khanal said regular contact has been maintained between the governments of Nepal and India since the current government was formed. He said the government wants the prime minister's visit to be results-oriented and productive, with Nepal hoping for positive progress on trade and transit, connectivity, energy and border-related issues.
He said some major infrastructure and hydropower projects are expected to be inaugurated or have their foundation stones laid during the visit, and that the two countries may also sign various agreements.
