Fulpati: Partly cloudy in hills, light rain-snow in mountains, morning fog in Tarai

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has forecast partly cloudy skies today across the country's hilly regions and generally cloudy conditions in the mountain regions.

The department has forecast light rain or snow at one or two places in the mountain areas of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces. It has also noted morning mist and fog at some places in the Tarai.

According to the department, the country currently has a partial effect of westerly winds, and a westerly low-pressure system is also expected to have a partial effect through today.

Tomorrow, the mountain regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki will generally be cloudy, while mountain areas of other provinces will be partly cloudy. The weather is expected to be mainly clear tomorrow in the Tarai areas of Lumbini and Sudurpashchim, with partly cloudy skies over the rest of the Tarai, including Madhesh.

Tomorrow, there is a chance of light rain or snow with thunder and lightning at one or two places in the mountain regions and the hills of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki.

In Kathmandu, the temperature is expected to range from 14 to 16 degrees Celsius, with no chance of rain, the department said. In Pokhara, temperatures will range from 17 to 19 degrees, with a 30 percent chance of light rain with thunder.

Biratnagar is expected to see temperatures between 19 and 21 degrees, while Janakpur and Nepalgunj are expected to range between 20 and 22 degrees. Birendranagar will see partly cloudy skies with temperatures between 16 and 18 degrees.
