Kunal Kayal has been elected unopposed as president of the Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Nikki).

The chamber's 32nd annual general meeting, held at The Everest Hotel in Kathmandu on Asoj 29, selected the new leadership for the 2026-2028 term.

Kayal previously served as vice-president during outgoing president Sunil KC's tenure and as treasurer during Shrijana Rana's tenure.

The nine-member executive committee elected by the general meeting nominated the office-bearers at its first meeting. Karan Kumar Chaudhary and Gaurav Tayal became vice-presidents, Barnan Lamichhane became general secretary, and Shailaja Adhikari became treasurer.

Sanjay Agrawal, Ramesh Sharma, Shailendra Guragain, Shashikant Agrawal, Sushan Karmacharya, Binay Upadhyaya, Ashique Shrestha and Chandra Tandon are members of the executive committee.

The committee includes entrepreneurs from the energy, manufacturing, education, telecommunications and trade sectors.

Outgoing president KC handed over leadership after completing a two-year term, during which emphasis was placed on secretariat reforms, expanding ties with the government, and bringing new entrepreneurs into membership.
