A fresh shipment of ghee and yak cheese from the Dairy Development Corporation (DDC) has arrived in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

This time, about 1,500 kg of ghee and around 150 kg of yak cheese have been sent, targeting the Dasain and Tihar festival season.

According to Prakash Chandra Ghimire, managing director of Rato and Chandra-Surya International, the additional shipment follows good market response to an earlier trial shipment of the same quantity of ghee.

He said Nepali products are being delivered to customers in Dubai through three sales points via Matrabhumi General Trading LLC. These outlets are located at Sonapur, Murakkabat and Salah Al Din metro stations.

DDC General Manager Dr. Sharan Kumar Pandey said the plan is to expand exports based on demand in the Dubai market and consumer response.

Keeping foreign consumers in mind, the ghee containers carry details in Nepali, English and Arabic. DDC has previously exported Nepali ghee to countries including Japan.
