Traffic has resumed on the Galchhi–Betrawati road section, which was damaged by floods in Rasuwa, after a track was opened.

Infrastructure Development Minister Sunil Lamsal said work to open the new track on this main route connecting Rasuwa has been completed.

The new track was opened about a month after the floods.

According to the minister's secretariat, grading the road and laying gravel still remains to be done.

Minister Lamsal urged everyone to cooperate, as heavy traffic during construction had affected the work.

With the track open, work on installing a Bailey bridge on the section is now moving forward.

The foundation for the bridge on the Nuwakot side has already been built, and preparations for installation are underway with support from the Nepali Army.

Minister Lamsal said foundation work on the Rasuwa side is also in its final stage.

According to him, work has been intensified with a target of completing the Bailey bridge installation within a week.

Meanwhile, the Galchhi–Trishuli–Mailung–Syafrubesi–Rasuwagadhi Road Project has also limited pedestrian movement on the stretch from Uttargaya School to Betrawati.

According to the project, pedestrians will be allowed to cross for only about 15 to 20 minutes every two hours, from 6 am to 6 pm.

The project said allowing pedestrians to walk at any time slows down the track-opening work.

For safety reasons, the project has asked people not to travel through that section at night.
