Nepal in Oman for decisive Cricket World Cup League 2 series, ODI status at stake

The Nepal national cricket team has arrived in Oman to play the final series of the Cricket World Cup League 2. Oman and Canada are also taking part in the series, in which Nepal will play four matches. Nepal's first match is against Canada on Asoj 25.

In the league table, Nepal are seventh with 24 points from 32 matches. If Nepal win all four remaining matches, their total could reach 32 points.

The top four teams in the league qualify directly for the World Cup Qualifier, but for Nepal to get there, results from other teams will also need to go their way. Although a mathematical possibility remains, the direct route to qualification has become very difficult for Nepal. The bottom four teams will play qualifier play-offs, so not finishing in the top four does not end Nepal's World Cup journey.

For now, Nepal's first priority is to preserve their One Day International status. The Oman series will be decisive in determining whether Nepal remain a one-day international team. Nepal recently won the ACC Premier Cup.
