Ashutosh Dixit appointed as 29th chief of Indian Air Force

The Indian government has appointed Air Marshal Ashutosh Dixit as the 29th chief of the Indian Air Force. The Ministry of Defence announced the appointment on the social media platform X.
Dixit is currently serving as deputy chief of the Indian Air Force. He will take over the leadership of the air force from October 31, replacing Air Chief Marshal Amarpreet Singh, who retires from service the same day.
Dixit is a test pilot and a qualified flying instructor with more than 3,500 hours of flying experience. He has already headed the Integrated Staff Committee under the Chairman in the Integrated Defence Staff Headquarters, and has served as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Central Air Command.
