Asian Life independent director resigns after CEO's departure

An independent director at Asian Life Insurance has resigned, days after the company's chief executive officer stepped down.
The company's independent director, Hemabahadur Karki, resigned from the post on Monday, citing personal work commitments. The company's board of directors, meeting on Tuesday, approved his resignation.
Karki had been appointed as the company's independent director on Asar 30, 2082. He has left the post roughly 15 months after his appointment.
Before this, the company's CEO, Dineshlal Shrestha, had resigned. Shrestha decided to step down about 21 months after being appointed for a second term. The board's 233rd meeting approved his resignation on Monday.
According to the company, Shrestha's resignation took effect from Tuesday, Kattik 10. Director Karki's resignation was approved the very next day after Shrestha's.
With this, two people -- the company's top executive and one board member -- have left their posts over two consecutive days.
