637 climbers get permits for 18 peaks this autumn, generating Rs 238.5 million

A total of 637 climbers have obtained permits to scale 18 mountains in Nepal during the autumn 2026 season.

According to the Department of Tourism, 637 climbers from 68 teams have taken out permits for various mountaineering expeditions this season.

The government has collected Rs 238.5 million in revenue from the autumn mountaineering permits issued so far.

After the spring season, autumn is regarded as the second major mountaineering season. The Department of Tourism has released the details of the teams and climbers securing permits for the autumn season.
