Labor Culture Party MP Dhruba Raj Rai has urged the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) not to topple its own government and to rule for a full five-year term.

Speaking at the House of Representatives meeting on Friday, he complained that Prime Minister Balen Shah had not responded to questions raised by the opposition during the monsoon session. He did, however, express gratitude that ministers from various ministries had answered on matters under their purview.

MP Rai said that as the session was concluding, he had to return to the people of Bhojpur empty-handed and without any enthusiasm. He drew the Prime Minister's attention to the fact that questions were being raised about the conduct of a government with a two-thirds majority.

He demanded that the situation in which the Prime Minister did not attend despite repeated requests to call him to the House should not be repeated in the next session. Recalling past people's movements and party activities and the public's anger toward them, he cautioned the government to remain vigilant against corruption.

Extending Dashain greetings, Rai expressed hope that in the coming session the opposition's demands would not be disrespected, and that the government would move forward by accommodating the opposition.
