Gas distributed from 6 Kathmandu Valley locations for Dashain, but complaints over refusal to exchange other companies' cylinders

To prevent a shortage of LP cooking gas during Dashain, a system of gas distribution and cylinder exchange has been started at 6 locations across Kathmandu Valley.

The LP Gas Industry Association has arranged for gas to be distributed from 6 locations across the valley and for cylinders of different companies to be exchanged with one another. The arrangement came into effect from today.

Under this system, consumers are supposed to be able to take an empty cylinder of any company and receive gas in exchange.

However, some consumers have complained that certain companies are refusing to exchange cylinders belonging to other companies. Consumers say they have been unable to exchange cylinders of just any company.
