Budhigandaki floods: four missing near Ungilung stream area, 15 yaks swept away

A flood has struck the Budhigandaki river from the Ungilung stream, which flows through Chumnubri Rural Municipality-6 in Gorkha. Four people have gone missing after the flood.
According to Assistant Chief District Officer Netra Prasad Sharma, four cattle sheds on the banks of the Ungilung stream were swept away. Fifteen yaks and 'nak' (female yaks) tied up in those sheds were also swept away. The condition of the four people who were tending the animals remains unknown.
The flood also swept away the Machhikhola bridge connecting Dharche Rural Municipality and the Soti bridge.
According to Dharche Rural Municipality Chairperson Laxman Gurung, the flood caused major damage to physical structures and infrastructure in Machhikhola and the surrounding area. He said there was no loss of human life there because people took precautions in time.
