Armed Police chief directs strict crackdown on border crime

Armed Police Force Inspector General Narayan Dutta Paudel has directed subordinate personnel to be strictly mobilized against crime and illegal activity in border areas.

He gave the instruction on Thursday while monitoring border checkpoints in Madhesh province, including at the Number 2 Chhinnamasta Battalion headquarters in Mahottari, as well as the companies, platoons, border outposts and security bases under it.

According to Armed Police co-spokesperson Shailendra Thapa, Inspector General Paudel took stock of the border security situation from concerned agencies and local residents along the border.

He told commanders to further strengthen monitoring and prevention of illegal activity and to increase vigilance and coordination. He also directed them to plan ahead and work in a way that produces visible results in curbing border crime and revenue leakage.
