Power cuts in parts of Kathmandu on Saturday and Sunday for maintenance

The Nepal Electricity Authority has announced that power supply will be cut in some areas of Kathmandu today, Saturday, and tomorrow, Sunday, to carry out maintenance and improve the distribution system. Notices have been issued by the authority's Ratnapark Distribution Centre and the Upper Valley East and South Distribution System Strengthening Project.
Today, areas around Jame Mosque, Ghantaghar, Sky Tower, Ganesh Temple, Heritage Plaza, Yak & Yeti and Pragya Bhawan under the Kamaladi feeder will have no power from 8 am to 11 am. In the Sundhara area, under the Tripureshwor feeder, the supply will be cut around Dharahara, Bagdarbar, the Central Jail and Rangshala from 10 am to 5 pm today.
Under the Babarmahal feeder, areas around Ranipokhari Police Division, Army Headquarters, Bhrikuti Mandap, the Customs Office and the Animal Hospital will have no supply on both days from 10 am to 5 pm.
The authority said the outages are needed for preventive maintenance, charging of underground cables, and shifting the load of some feeders to the Sundhara switching station.
