Claim of Rs 15 billion spent on helicopter rescue not true, at most Rs 200 million was spent: Home Minister Gurung

Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has said that claims of Rs 15 billion being spent on the helicopter rescue of citizens affected by the Bhotekoshi flood in Rasuwa are not true.

Speaking to reporters after a meeting at the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority on Wednesday, he said that at most Rs 200 million was spent on the helicopter rescue operation.

Home Minister Gurung also said that meetings held after disaster events would no longer be limited to formalities alone but would be made result-oriented and effective.
