Building Act 2083 bill registered in parliament, proposes guaranteeing every citizen's right to housing

Kathmandu — The Ministry of Infrastructure Development has registered the Building Act, 2083 bill at the Federal Parliament Secretariat with the objective of ensuring every citizen's right to housing.

Infrastructure Development Minister Sunil Lamsal registered the new building-related bill in parliament.

The bill proposes a provision under which the government would build new houses when settlements need to be relocated. The bill has been introduced with the objective of regulating matters related to building construction through new legislation.

On Friday, the government registered various bills related to civil aviation, good governance, infrastructure and road safety in the House of Representatives.
