Partly cloudy in the hills, clear weather in Tarai; skies to clear further tomorrow

Today's government forecast says the hilly and mountainous regions of the country will see partly cloudy skies, while the weather in the Tarai will remain mostly clear. The partial effect of monsoon winds along with westerly winds is said to be continuing in the country.

Mountainous areas of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces are expected to be mostly cloudy today. Other mountainous and hilly areas will see partly cloudy skies. Light rain or snow is possible at one or two places in the mountainous and hilly regions.

Among major cities, Janakpur is forecast to have the highest temperature at 33 degrees Celsius. Biratnagar and Nepalgunj are expected to see 32 degrees, Birendranagar 28 degrees, and Pokhara 27 degrees Celsius. Kathmandu will see partly cloudy skies with a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius.

Accordingly, temperatures in the Tarai cities of Janakpur, Biratnagar and Nepalgunj are 7 to 8 degrees higher than in Kathmandu. Pokhara has a 20 percent chance of light rain with thunder, while the remaining five cities show zero percent chance of rain.

Tomorrow, only the mountainous regions will see partly cloudy skies, while the hills and Tarai will be mostly clear. No chance of rain or snowfall has been indicated anywhere for tomorrow. This forecast, covering the three-day period from Asoj 26 to 28, was issued this morning at 8 am.
