Partial effect of westerly and monsoon winds: rain, snow likely in Himalayan region

The Weather Forecasting Division under the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has said the country is currently under the partial influence of westerly winds and monsoon winds.

According to the division, the Himalayan and hilly regions of the country are cloudy. Light rain is occurring in some Himalayan areas of Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.

The division said rain is likely on Monday afternoon in the Himalayan and hilly areas of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as in some areas of Lumbini province. According to the department, light to moderate rain is likely in some areas of the country's Himalayan and hilly regions on Monday.

The division also said snowfall is possible in some Himalayan areas.
