Budhigandaki flood: army team deployed to install bailey bridge at Arughat

Floods in the Budhigandaki River in Gorkha swept away two concrete motorable bridges, completely blocking road traffic toward Arughat. The flood also washed away the motorable bridge connecting Arughat and Dhading.
A Nepali Army team has been deployed to prepare for installing a bailey bridge at the site where the bridge was swept away. The Army's Directorate of Public Relations and Information provided this information.
Prime Minister Balen Shah said preparations for installing the bailey bridge at Arughat have already begun. He urged residents along the banks of the Budhigandaki River to stay in safe locations, avoid using risky bridges and roads, and coordinate with local administration and security agencies.
Meanwhile, the Hydrology and Water Resources Research Centre has released preliminary findings that Sunday's flood in the Budhigandaki was caused by a snow avalanche. The centre drew this conclusion while releasing a situation report on the flood.
