Nepal Festival Perth concludes with around 10,000 spectators

The Nepal Festival Perth 2026, organised by the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) Western Australia at Wellington Square in Perth, has concluded. According to the organisers, more than 10,000 spectators took part in the festival, which was held on Saturday, Asoj 24.
The organisers said the festival was held with the aim of introducing Nepali art, culture, tradition and identity to the Australian community. Australian government officials, ministers, members of parliament and leaders of multicultural communities were also present at the event.
Nepali traditional food items and a kids' zone set up for children were among the festival's main attractions. On the musical front, singer Pramod Kharel, singer Rachana Rimal and the Parampara Band performed.
Despite cold weather and a few minutes of light rain, spectators who had come in Nepali attire and carrying the national flag kept dancing. During the rain, the band kept the programme going by playing only music for a while.
Kharel performed around two dozen songs, starting with 'Hangama Bho' and including 'Jhuma Jhumka Wali', 'Yo Kura Gopya' and 'Karnali Salal Sal'. He said the performance in Perth gave him a chance to understand the Nepali heart up close.
The Parampara Band is scheduled to return to Nepal on Tuesday and will travel to Assam, India, on October 19 and 20 during Dashain. After Tihar, the band will take part in the Surtaal Musical Tour again.
