788 climbers from 70 countries get permits to scale 31 peaks this autumn

788 people have obtained permits to climb 31 mountains in Nepal this autumn. According to the Department of Tourism, 91 teams have taken permits to climb various mountains in the autumn 2026 season.
Among the permit holders, 582 are men and 206 are women. The climbers are from 70 countries, with China accounting for the largest number at 118.
This autumn, the attention of many climbers is focused on Mt. Manaslu.
The department said royalty collection from mountain climbing permits has reached Rs 247.2 million this autumn.
