Bailey bridge to open before Dashain in Betrawati; main roads reopen except Rasuwa–Mustang link

A Bailey bridge is set to open over the Falakhu river at Betrawati, on the Rasuwa–Nuwakot border, before Dashain. The bridge over the river was washed away by the Bhadau 10 flood. The Bailey bridge is being built under the leadership of the Nepali Army, and the materials needed have already been brought to the construction site, Army spokesperson Assistant Rathi Rajaram Basnet said.
According to Spokesperson Basnet, transporting the materials became easier after the Agligaar–Betrawati road section opened. Once the Bailey bridge is built, vehicle movement will resume on the Passang Lhamu route, which was blocked after the concrete bridge was swept away.
Vehicles have been running from Galchhi to Betrawati since Friday. However, there are difficulties in immediately connecting Syafrubesi, Rasuwagadhi and Timure to the main road. The flood has washed away a large part of the road from Galchhi to Timure.
Apart from the Rasuwa–Mustang road, most other main roads blocked by floods and landslides have reopened. Heavy rain from Asoj 9 to 11 has completely blocked the Jomsom road from Beni in Myagdi, which leads to Mustang's Jomsom. It is estimated to take about another week to reopen it.
The Besisahar–Khangsar road in Lamjung has reopened in one direction. The Kaligandaki Corridor has also reopened in one direction at Ghumauri Ghat in Bulingtar-6, East Nawalparasi.
