100 days of FIFA suspension, Nepali football still in limbo

It has been 100 days since the international football body FIFA suspended the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), but it is still unclear when the ban will be lifted.

FIFA indefinitely suspended ANFA on June 25, citing interference by third parties in the association's work. As a result of the suspension, Nepal's national teams and clubs have not been able to take part in competitions organised by FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). ANFA has also lost the financial support, development programmes and training opportunities it received from those bodies.

Neighbouring India was also suspended by FIFA in August 2022 because of third-party interference.
