Congress general convention from Sunday, physical campaign materials banned, digital campaigning emphasized

Nepali Congress has enforced a strict code of conduct for candidates at its 15th general convention, starting Sunday, Asoj 18. According to the code, no printed campaign materials, including flexes, banners, posters and pamphlets, may be displayed, pasted or distributed at or around the convention venue, Bhrikutimandap. Digital campaigning, however, will be allowed. A warning has also been issued that action will be taken against violations of the code of conduct.
At a press conference held in Sanepa on Friday, party spokesperson Devraj Chalise said preparations had been made to hold the convention in a technology-friendly manner, with campaigning to be conducted through 100 digital boards. Former president Sher Bahadur Deuba will inaugurate the convention at Khula Manch on the afternoon of Asoj 18.
Congress leader Udaya Shamsher Rana said it had been decided that RSP chair Rabi Lamichhane, UML chair KP Sharma Oli and CPN leader Pushpa Kamal Dahal would address the convention.
Nomination registration for candidates for the Central Working Committee election will take place on Monday, Asoj 19.
