UML national convention on Mangsir 2-3, over 3,000 participants expected

CPN-UML has stepped up preparations for its national convention scheduled for Mangsir 2 and 3.

A second preparatory meeting was held on Tuesday at the party's central office in Chyasal, chaired by Secretary and Organisation Department chief Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal. Vice-chairs Bishnu Paudel and Raghuji Pant, General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, and Policy Study and Research Academy chair Bishnu Rimal, among other leaders, attended.

Department chief Dhakal presented the preparation plan for the convention at the meeting. Vice-chair Paudel said the convention's main objective is to build a shared understanding among cadres on the party's internal life, the national and international situation, and livelihood issues.

Noting that the Central Committee's third meeting had decided to move the party forward in a united manner, he expressed confidence that the convention would mobilize cadres to prepare for the upcoming local-level election. He also stressed that UML must demonstrate its influence and capacity in the local election.

More than 3,000 people are expected to attend the convention, including representatives of the Central Committee, central bodies, provinces, districts, local levels and sister organizations, along with elected representatives from various tiers.
