Pregnant woman from Humla airlifted to Surkhet by army helicopter

A woman who developed serious complications during pregnancy in Humla has been flown to Surkhet by a Nepali Army aircraft.
The Ministry of Women, Children, Gender and Sexual Minorities and Social Security said the rescue was carried out under the aerial rescue program of the National Women Empowerment Project.
The woman rescued is a 26-year-old resident of Serkegad Rural Municipality-3. According to the ministry, she developed delivery-related complications on Asoj 15. After the required services were unavailable at the local health facility, she was immediately taken to Surkhet for specialist care.
The ministry has been running this program to ensure timely access to health services for pregnant and postpartum women in remote and inaccessible areas.
