World Tourism Day: NATTA launches 'Nepal is Open' campaign

The Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) has launched a two-day special programme under the 'Nepal is Open' and 'Nepal is Calling' campaigns to mark the 47th World Tourism Day.

NATTA general secretary Rajkumar Devkota said the programme aims to send a message worldwide that Nepal is fully safe, operational and open for foreign tourists.

On the first day, Saturday morning, a cleanup drive was held under the 'NATTA Clean and Green Campaign-2026' in the Budhanilkantha, Tokha and Chandeshwari areas along the Shivapuri-Nagarjun National Park corridor.

A heritage run will be held tomorrow, Sunday, Asoj 11, at 7 am, the day World Tourism Day is observed. The run has been named the 'Nepal Nimto-NATTA Heritage Run-2026.' The roughly 6-km run will start from Basantapur in the Kathmandu Durbar Square area and conclude at Patan Durbar Square.

General Secretary Devkota said tourism entrepreneurs, representatives of tourism-related organisations, youths and the general public would take part in the run.
