Asian Games end: China tops medal table, Nepal limited to two bronze

The 20th Asian Games concluded on Sunday in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan. China finished first with 341 medals, while Nepal won only two bronze medals.
According to the medal table, China won 169 gold, 89 silver and 83 bronze medals. Host Japan finished second with 269 medals, including 83 gold, 95 silver and 91 bronze. South Korea took third place with 150 medals, including 39 gold, and India finished fourth with 85 medals, including 21 gold.
India won gold in men's cricket by defeating Pakistan, and also won gold in men's hockey.
For Nepal, Tenzing Sherpa won bronze in the kumite category of karate. The Nepali women's kabaddi team won a bronze medal at the Asian Games for the second consecutive time.
Nepal sent 135 athletes to compete in 21 sports. The country had set a target of winning at least 10 medals, including one gold. Before the Games, the federations for karate, wushu, boxing and judo had announced that they would each win at least one medal.
Erica Gurung, a karate athlete who won silver at the previous Asian Games, could not win a medal this time.
